A distant sighting of Rodney's Pillar, erected on the summit of the Breidden Hill in 1781-82 by local gentlemen to recognise the naval victories of   Admiral Sir George Brydges Rodney.

In 2023 it was found that the structure was so unstable that it would need to be dismantled and rebuilt.
