The old road from Kırşehir towards Karakeçili crosses the Kızılırmak ( Red River ) at Köprüköy. The bridge is thought to date from the 13th century. Following the construction of the Kapulukaya Dam at Hacılar, some 20 km north, a new dual-carriageway bridge was built a short distance to the south.
