This han was built by Mehmet Kalfa in 1758 for the then governor of Amasya, Rahtuvan Hacı Mehmet Paşa. Seen here in a sorry state although still occupied by various workshops, restoration of the building was completed in 2012 and it is now the smart Taşhan Hotel.
At the summit of the rock beyond is the Citadel, whilst lower down tombs of the Pontic kings are carved out of the cliff.
View to the north down Taşhan Sokağı towards Mustafa Kemal Paşa Caddesi.
