A typical Sunday scene on the quayside at Karaköy, just below the Galata Bridge.
The Bosphorus ferry
Ataköy was one of nine built at the Fairfıeld Company's Govan shipyard on the River Clyde, Scotland, in 1961 ( launched as Gençlik ). After being withdrawn from service in 2000, she was given to the municipality of the Black Sea port of Ereğli and used as a restaurant. Unfortunately she was destroyed during a storm in 2004.
