This location, near the Eminönü side of the Atatürk Bridge, was a mooring place for various barges and tugs and is one of many vantage points to take in the sweep of the Eminönü skyline. From the left - Yeni Cami, beyond which is Haghia Sophia; the single minaret of Rüstem Paºa Camii, then Nuruosmaniye Camii, the Beyazit Tower and finally Süleymaniye Camii. On the shore ( centre-right ) is the fruit and vegetable wholesale market, to which produce was brought daily by boat from the Istanbul hinterland. Gone.
View to the south-east.
