July 1982
The Monastery of Christ Pantepoptes, 'Christ the All-Seeing', was founded by Anna Delasenna, mother of Emperor Alexius I Comnenus, in the late 11th century, its church being converted into a mosque after the Ottoman Conquest.
This view of 1982 shows that the low building at the end of the street visible in 1979 has been demolished.
The wall seen here has now been replaced by railings, allowing more of the lower part of the structure to be seen.
View of the south elevation from Küçük Mektepli Sokağı, Zeyrek.
