The Çuhacılar Hanı ( the Han of the Cloth-dealers ) dates from the early 18th century and was built by Damat İbrahim Paşa, Grand Vizier in the reign of Sultan Ahmet III. At some point in its history the courtyard has been filled with a clutter of small shops.
Located just to the east of the Grand Bazaar, it is overlooked by the Nuruosmaniye Mosque, begun in 1748 by Sultan Mahmut I and completed in 1755 by his brother Osman III, after whom it is named.
