This han, near the Rüstem Paşa mosque, not far from the Galata Bridge, was in the 16th century occupied by Egyptian honey-merchants. In later Ottoman times it was used by Bulgarian traders. Extensive vaults dating from the Byzantine period lie beneath the courtyard. The entrance ( left of picture ) is off Balkapanı Sokağı.
