On a Roman military road west of the Euphrates, this bridge across the Göksu River was built during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus ( AD 193-211 ). Only the two supporting arches survive, the central one having been destroyed at some point in history.
The Göksu joins the Euphrates ( which flows east - west here ) some 20 km downstream from the Atatürk Dam, east of the village of Kızılin. The bridge is about 5 km from the confluence. View from the south.
... The central arch has been rebuilt !!!
