On a Roman military road west of the Euphrates, the bridge across the Göksu River was built during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus ( AD 193-211 ). The Göksu is a tributary of the Euphrates, joining it from the north ( the main river flows east-west here ) some 20 km downstream from the Atatürk Dam, east of the village of Kızılin. The bridge is about 5 km from the confluence.
Animals are brought to water in the afternoon. View from the south.
! Avoid getting too close to livestock. There will be guard dogs.
