The river flows through a gorge south-east of the village of Köklüce ( formerly Ölbüş ) in the district of Gerger.
In 1954, three Germans from Ulm, Hans Seefeld, Heinz Sokoll and Egon Kuhn, paddled their kayaks along this stretch of water. Perhaps inspired by the journey of compatriot Oskar Speck, their mission was to journey to Australia to see the Melbourne Olympics of 1956.
