The Euphrates at its confluence with the Gerger River ( flowing from the right ). The main river, flowing from the north-east, on the left, is partly out of sight. This view, to the south, is from near the village of Kaşyazı, east of Gerger.

A part of this area has been flooded by the waters of the lake formed behind the Atatürk Dam.
