Sumatar Harabesi (Yağmurlu)
Sumatar ( now Yağmurlu Köyü ), an ancient watering-place, is situated in the Tektek Mountains, some 50km south-east of Şanlıurfa. A number of ruined tomb-like structures, believed by some to be temples, are placed about the barren landscape, set back from a natural mound. Syriac inscriptions at the site dating to the 2nd and 3rd centuries would seem to indicate that this place was a centre for the worship of the moon god Sin.

Numbering and measurements of the various structures are based on those given by J B Segal in 'Pagan Syriac Monuments In The Vilayet Of Urfa'. (Anatolian Studies).
