The limestone quarry at Nantmawr, some 4 miles south-west of Oswestry, was worked from sometime before the mid-19th century. The quarry was worked by Amey Roadstone for some years in the later 20th century until closure in 1977.
Today it is the venue for occasional Enduro motorcycle events.
