This is the 19th century pumping Engine house and its associated chimney stack of the Leeds Shaft at Greatwork, about a mile up the road from Godolphin Cross. Mining of tin and copper took place in the area from the 16th century.
Now in the care of the National Trust. View from the east.

My grandfather and father laboured here (above ground) when the mine was worked in the 1930s. BW 2020
