Les Landes - Batterie Moltke
49.245220,-2.249880
One of the gun emplacements at the Batterie Moltke complex, part of the 'Atlantic Wall' defences constructed by the Germans during their occupation of the Island in World War 2.
After the war the French K418 ( f ) field guns in place here were broken up or thrown over the nearby cliff. An original gun has been restored to one of the positions after being recovered in the 1990s.
St Ouen's Bay in the background with the lighthouse at La Corbière in the far distance.
