The statues on the east terrace are set to face the rising sun. King Antiochus I ( on the left ) is seated next to the goddess Commagene-Tyche. At the centre is Zeus-Oromasdes, then Apollo-Mithras-Helios-Hermes and finally Herakles-Artagnes-Ares. They are flanked by statues of eagles and lions. The tomb of Antiochus is thought lie beneath the 50m high mound of crushed rock.
... The fallen heads have now been lined up in front of their respective statues.
