41.004970,28.968320
A namazgah is an outdoor place of prayer. This example, named after Esma Sultan, a daughter of Sultan Ahmet III, was built in 1779. Two sides of the structure have fountains, whilst a third provides stepped access to the prayer platform above.
To be seen at Kadırga Meydanı, off Kadırga Limanı Caddesi, along which one strolls from Sultanahmet to the fish restaurants at Kumkapı.
View from the north-west.
... The monument has been restored.
