The Akaretler Row Houses, designed by Sarkis Balyan, were constructed in the mid-1870s to accommodate officials from the nearby Dolmabahçe Palace. Seen here mostly derelict, the buildings were restored 2003-2008 and now house smart shops, restaurants and galleries with apartments above.
