The statues on the East Terrace are set to face the rising sun. King Antiochus I ( on the left ) is seated next to the goddess Commagene-Tyche. At the centre is Zeus-Oromasdes, then Apollo-Mithras-Helios-Hermes and finally Herakles-Artagnes-Ares. They are flanked by statues of eagles and lions.  The tomb of Antiochus may lie within, or beneath the 50m high mound of crushed rock.
