Sunrise. At this time the waters of the river are backing up behind the Atatürk Dam, the bridge carrying the main road eastwards from Adıyaman having been submerged. The larger vessel can transport a couple of vehicles across the river.

Today the main road goes north from Kahta, then east via Narince to a new road bridge, the Nissibi Köprüsü, which crosses the river at Keferge.
