Meroë - North Cemetery
The pyramids of the royal cemeteries at Meroë date from c 300 BC to c AD 350. Typically, remains were interred in an underground chamber below a funerary chapel projecting from the base of the pyramid.  Looking south, late afternoon, from the summit of Pyramid 12 ( numbering after Dunham ). South Cemetery in  the distance.
Some 5 km east of the Nile at Begrawiya, near Kabushiya.
