Sunday morning at the Piazza Farnese. The square is dominated by the Palazzo Farnese ( right ). Commissioned by Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, construction began in about 1515. It was redesigned and enlarged after Alessandro became Pope ( Paul III ) in 1534. The palace was completed by his descendants towards the end of the 16th century. It has been the home of the French Embassy since 1874. The building at the end of the square is the 17th century Palazzo Mandosi.
