Prussia Cove - Bessy's Cove
Prussia Cove is the collective name of four coves of which Bessy's Cove is the largest. The area is known for the smuggling activities of John Carter, the 'King of Prussia', in the 18th century.
In April 1947 the decommisioned battleship HMS Warspite, being towed to the breakers yard in Scotland, ran aground near here.
